Abstract

Formal educational system was the last major segment to be established within the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA) institutional development process. Several different reasons combined to cause that delay in this religious denomination. In its developmental process, some characters played a key role, such as Frederick Griggs, who was one of the most prominent leaders, and he is best know in SDA educational history as a moderate educator.
