Abstract
In this article we seek to establish relationships between the education proposals of Ellen White (1994, 2008) and John Dewey (2011) for the concepts of experience and democracy. They are important authors in the discussion about the perception of education and the development of educational practices. Education as each of the authors proposes comes from their historical and social contexts, observing significant aspects in their subjectivities. In this sense, in addition to understanding the proposals, it is worth comparing them and understanding whether what was thought remains valid and used not only in the Adventist network, in the case of White, but also in other educational networks.
