A hermenêutica da “teologia da última geração”.

Abstract

O objetivo desse artigo é avaliar criticamente a hermenêutica da “Teologia da Última Geração” (TUG). Não se trata aqui, primordialmente, de avaliar se a teoria é bíblica ou não. O foco é a hermenêutica, o modo como a Bíblia e os escritos de Ellen G. White são utilizados. Para isso, é dada atenção especial ao modo como a hermenêutica da TUG revela (1) problemas nas justificativas bíblicas apresentadas; (2) uma leitura seletiva dos escritos de Ellen G. White; (3) a utilização do “método texto-prova”; (4) a apresentação de temas em perspectivas equivocadas; (5) problemas semânticos; (6) o reducionismo de temas mais amplos; e (7) problemas de lógica argumentativa. A pesquisa utiliza o método da revisão bibliográfica. E, com base no artigo, é possível concluir que, se a TUG pretende ser um ensino bíblico, é urgente que seus conceitos sejam bíblica e plenamente fundamentados e esclarecidos, em consonância com os princípios adventistas de interpretação das Escrituras.

This article aims at evaluating critically the hermeneutics used in the “Last Generation Theology” (LGT). The main purpose is not to assess whether the theory is biblical or not. The focus is the hermeneutics itself and the way Ellen G. White’s writings and the Bible are used. To this end, special attention is given to the following evidence concerning the hermeneutics of the LGT: (1) problems related to the biblical claims presented; (2) a selective reading of Ellen G. White’s writings; (3) the use of the “proof-text method”; (4) the presentation of themes from a mistaken perspective; (5) semantic problems; (6) reductionism of broader themes; and (7) problems related to argumentative logics. The research makes use of the bibliographic review method. Based on this article, it is possible to conclude that, should the LGT be a biblical teaching, its concepts must urgently and fully explained by means of a Bible-based hermeneutics, in accordance with Adventist principles of interpreting the Scriptures.
