Abstract

Colossians 2:14-17 is one of the texts most used by those who want to prove that the observance of the fourth commandment was abolished in the cross. It makes a clear reference to the Sabbath. In the other side, those who defend the observance of the fourth commandment usually interprets this text as referring to a Ceremonial Sabbath. However, could there be another interpretation that would take it as speaking of the Sabbath of the Ten Commandments? What does Ellen G. White said on the subject? This paper presents an interpretation that differs of the traditional Seventh-day Adventists interpretation while maintaining the validity of the seventh-day observance.
