The Importance of the Pastoral Visitation: The Perception of the Pastors of the Paulistana Conference and of the Students of Theology from UNASP-EC
Keywords:
Pastoral visitation, Paulistana Conference, students of Theology.Abstract
This investigation searches to evaluate what is the perception held by theology
students and Adventist ministers concerning the relevance of pastoral visitation. In order to reach such a goal, the first chapter points to the importance of the act of visitation in the Old Testament and the New Testament, as well as in the writings of Ellen G. White, and in the present days. The second chapter presents the results of a field investigation undertaken with the pastors of the Paulistana Conference of the SDA, and with the students of the Department of Theology of UNASP, Campus Engenheiro Coelho (SP). Finally, the third chapter analyzed the data collected, identified problems and difficulties, and proposed a plan of visitation.
