Abstract

The present study investigates the theory of intertextuality as a handy tool for biblical hermeneutics. After a brief introduction to the theory and a proposal for the classification of the inter-texts, it is undertaken a verification of the phenomena of intertextuality in Micah 3:1-4:8. The text is considered in its final canonical form. Besides pointing out the inter-texts present in the literary unity, and provide their classification and analysis, the study evidenced also the significant presence of the theme of the covenant in the prophetic discourse of Micah. The inter-textual analysis substantiated in addition the traditional view concerning the authorship of the text of the pericope, since, besides the covenant's concepts and terms that permeated it, the text seems to have being structured according to a key text on the covenant in the Bible.
