Wedding, Christ and the church in Ephesians 5

There is a tension between the female pairness and submission permeating the matrimonial paraenesis in Ephesians 5:21-33. This study aims to understand this subject under the light of the creation’s story written in Genesis 1-3, such as in other correlated bible texts. It will also be analysed the duble relationship between Christ and the church and between the husband and his wife in its nuances and unfoldings throughout the marital paraenesis. The article will also investigate the christological, sosteriological and eclesiological mentions in the proposed texts.
