A relação entre os Testamentos e o debate sobre o sensus plenior: uma abordagem adventista

Este artigo propõe-se a fazer uma avaliação do debate em torno da teoria do sensus plenior e seus desdobramentos na hermenêutica bíblica da Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia (IASD). Para isso, a história do desenvolvimento da teoria do sensus plenior será exposta, incluindo a tensão entre teólogos em torno de definições e conceitos. Também será descrita a posição da hermenêutica adventista diante do problema do uso do AT no NT, e as consequências do uso da teoria do sensus plenior na hermenêutica dentro da perspectiva da IASD serão avaliadas. A pesquisa utilizará o método da revisão bibliográfica. Com base no levantamento feito pelo artigo, é possível concluir que o adventismo precisa ter consciência de como o sensus plenior afeta a sua hermenêutica e suas pressuposições, especialmente sua visão a respeito da natureza das Escrituras.
