Financial Education: Reflection, Principles and Organization

The increase in indebtedness and default draws attention to the need to promote financial education. In this research, the objective is to reflect on some principles that can help in the organization of people's financial lives by obtaining knowledge that makes it possible to modify habits and behaviors for a better management of financial resources. Through the method of bibliographic review, it is proposed to analyze the importance of financial education for the management of financial resources. The research draws attention to the need to seek knowledge related to personal and family finances, in order to change behaviors regarding the use of money. The management of financial resources requires the person to carry out a personal or family financial plan and to be based on knowledge of numbers and financial matters to learn to control their monthly income and expenses, making plans for debt repayment and savings and investments, having as a basis for moral and ethical conduct. Financial planning and knowledge about the financial market can promote changes that result in an improvement in the quality of life, reducing stress and worries, through conscious choices about the use of money.
