Abstract
This article aims to present the pioneering work of Domingos Peixoto da Silva as a student at the Adventist Seminary between 1915 and 1922, as an administrator at the Adventist College between 1939 and 1947, and as leader of the Department of Civic Duties and Religious Liberty of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brazil between 1951 and 1971. The research is characterized as a bibliographical investigation whose aim is to demonstrate the Afro-Brazilian presence in the early days of denominational history, mainly in Adventist Education, with the founding of the Adventist Seminary (currently Unasp).
