Abstract
Objective: This article aims to describe how the Centro Universitário Adventista de São Paulo (UNASP) qualified as a Health Promoting University before the World Health Organization (WHO) and how the Professional Master’s in Health Promotion (MPPS) works on these aspects in teaching, research, and extension.
Method: A documentary analysis of the health promotion actions implemented by UNASP was conducted, based on WHO’s principles for Health Promotion. A total of 48 projects developed by the institution were identified and analyzed, covering both internal and external communities.
Results: UNASP is part of two international health promotion networks, RIUPS and REBRAUPS. The institution adopts a holistic approach based on sustainability, intersectoral collaboration, social participation, and equity. The projects developed emphasize health education, evidence-based research, and community-driven well-being initiatives.
Conclusion: UNASP has established itself as a Health Promoting University by aligning its practices with national and international guidelines. The MPPS strengthens transdisciplinary collaboration and contributes to implementing innovative health strategies, positively impacting both the academic and external communities.
